James Gunn’s DCU has addressed Batman casting rumours surrounding the upcoming DCU film “The Brave and The Bold”. Are they true?
With multiple projects in the pipeline for 2024 and beyond, there are many discussions surrounding James Gunn’s DCU. This includes recent Batman casting rumours about “The Brave and the Bold.” Gunn has spoken out on social media after fans have asked the question is it “true that a new actor is about to be cast for Batman?” He has responded by debunking the rumour by stating, “it’s totally false. We don’t have a script yet.”
The progress of the script and its writer have not been confirmed. However, Gunn revealed some key details about the film – which is being directed by “The Flash’s” Andy Muschietti. It includes the live-action introduction of Damian Wayne, Bruce’s biological son. The story will explore the theme of fatherhood as Batman learns about Damian’s existence.
When Gunn and Peter Safran first announced their upcoming DCU movies and TV shows, they mentioned that Bat Family members would be featured in the new movie. This could mean that we will see the likes of Batgirl, Nightwing, and Red Hood. Bruce’s age hasn’t been confirmed yet, but he will likely be older than David Corenswat’s Superman.
Gunn also confirmed that Batman will not appear in “Superman: Legacy.” Likely, Batman will not make an appearance in the new DCU until “Brave and the Bold,” though he could be teased through the “Arkham Asylum” TV show before then.
