Mandalorian Din Djarin Leaves Bounty Hunting Ways Behind

Mandalorian Din Djarin has taken an unexpected character path after “The Mandalorian: Season 3”. What does the future hold for him and Grogu?

Din Djarin, played by The Last of Us actor Pedro Pascal, has undergone a major change in the aftermath of The Mandalorian Season 3. His latest character arc and sidelined appearance were met with mixed reviews from Mandalorian fans. These changes were made in preparation for the upcoming movie “The Mandalorian & Grogu”.

In a Hasbro press release, a new Din Djarin figurine has been given a description that sets up his Star Wars future, based on his appearance in “The Mines of Mandalore” episode. Hasbro writes that Djarin was “once a lonely bounty hunter” before reuniting with Grogu and adopting him as his own.  The new Grogu figure places emphasis on the duo taking “a stand against the Imperial remnant”.

In “The Mandalorian: Season 3”, Din and Grogu fight against Moff Gideon – a brief display of them fighting the Imperial remnant, which may be explored in the upcoming film and a potential season 4.

Din Djarin and Grogu

While Din is seen speaking in code to Carson about bounty-hunting for the New Republic, Star Wars has officially confirmed that his bounty-hunting days are over. The destruction of Din’s Razor Crest gunship in season 2 and his unsuccessful job of Glavis Ring World in “The Book of Boba Fett: Episode 5” foreshadowed this shift. Now, Din will focus on being Grogu’s official Mandalorian mentor.

With this change, the franchise has a chance to explore the life of a man who has abandoned his bounty-hunting ways. This could lead to a promising future of content, centred around Din and his adopted son. However, there is always the risk that this new journey could prove uninteresting to fans of the series.
