Jurassic Park is a majorly popular series, entertaining audiences with dinosaur danger since 1993. Now, Universal Pictures is releasing a Jurassic Park reboot.
Universal Pictures is bringing a new Jurassic Park reboot film on July 2nd, 2025.
The currently untitled film will arrive nine days before James Gunn’s DCU film “Superman: Legacy”. David Leitch (Deadpool 2) is in talks to direct the new Jurassic World addition. David Koepp, the writer of Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 “Jurassic Park,” has penned the new script.
While no plot details have been announced, the project will introduce “a new Jurassic Era” and not feature any actors from the previous six films. Steven Spielberg, however, will return to serve as an executive producer. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will produce alongside Leitch and Kelly McCormick through their company 78North.
The original film was adapted by Koepp from Michale Crichton’s 1990 novel to become one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. The film grossed a staggering $978 million worldwide, overtaking “E.T.” as the highest-grossing film of all time (until “Titanic” broke the $1 billion boundary).
After the massive success of the first film, 1997’s “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” and 2001’s “Jurassic Park III”. Neither of the sequels achieved the same degree of success ($618.6 million and $384.1 million worldwide, respectively), so the series lay franchise for 14 years.
Director Colin Trevorrow took out the series, dusted it off, and revamped it with 2015’s “Jurassic World”. This time, it was a resounding success ($1.67 billion worldwide) and spawned a new trilogy. 2018’s “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and 2020’s “Jurassic World: Dominion” both netted over $1 billion worldwide.
There have been no official announcements yet on when production or casting will begin for this new Jurassic reboot project.
