With a new Indiana Jones game on the horizon, Troy Baker is taking up the mantle to voice our favourite archaeologist, Indy.
Bethesda/Machine Games are working on a new Indiana Jones game, though the whip-wielding protagonist won’t be voiced by Harrison Ford. After the Xbox Developer Direct on Thursday, it was confirmed that Indiana Jones would be voiced by none other than Troy Baker. In addition to this casting, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 actor Tony Todd (Venom) will voice a mysterious character called Locus.
Troy has been a staple in the gaming industry for two decades. His most famous role is Joel Miller from The Last of Us franchise, including an appearance as a character in HBO’s The Last of Us TV series (though not as Joel, who is played by Pedro Pascal).
Aside from this, Troy’s other notable roles are Sam Drake in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Booker DeWitt in Bioshock Infinite, Rhys Strongfolk in Tales from the Borderlands, Snow Villiers in Final Fantasy XIII, and Kanji Tatsumi in Persona 4.
MachineGames, developers of Wolfenstein, released new footage and revealed the name of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Thursday. The game is set between Raider of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, firmly embedded within the original trilogy.
The release date for the game has not been confirmed, but we do know that it will arrive in 2024.
