Star Wars: The Phantom Menace Celebrates 25 Years in Cinemas

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a limited-run cinema re-release on May the 4th weekend.

“Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” returns to the cinema this May for its 25th anniversary. The film was originally released on July 16th 1999, the first of the prequel trilogy. From the iconic Darth Maul battle to the thunderous Podrace and Palpatine’s political plotting, “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” rolled back the clock and introduced fans to the boy behind Darth Vader.

To celebrate the franchise’s “May the 4th Be with You” tradition, “The Phantom Menace” will be re-released in cinemas for a limited time (from Friday 3rd May). This is accompanied by an epic new poster from Matt Ferguson – with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon ready for battle, Padmé standing her ground, and Darth Maul’s face ominously looming in the background.
