Nightingale: Victorian Survival RPG gets 20 Minute Gameplay Trailer

Nightingale is a Victorian-themed RPG survival game developed by Inflexion Games – with ex-Bioware boss Aaryn Flynn at the helm. The game is set to release on February 22nd, 2024.

“Nightengale is a PVE open-world survival crafting game played solo or cooperatively with friends. Build, craft, fight, and explore as you venture through mystical portals into a variety of amazing and fantastical realms.

You are stranded beyond our world, cut off by the collapse of the arcane portal network. This catastrophe has left you fighting to survive in a labyrinth of beautiful and dangerous Fae realms.

Your goal: become a skilled Realmwalker, and navigate the web of transdimensional portals. Only then can you discover your way to the magical city of Nightingale, the last known bastion of humanity.”

An almost 20-minute gameplay video has been released by IGN, giving gamers a sneak peek into the base-building, resource-gathering, and crafting aspects.

In this trailer, a character named Puck introduces the player to the base-building aspects of Nightingale. Home bases are referred to as Estates. Resource gathering and crafting appear to play a large role in the game, which is a familiar mechanic for lovers of survival games. As you explore, you gather new information which is added to your codex.

Nightingale uses a Realm Card system. Crafting Realm Cards helps players to access specific realms, instead of relying on randomness. An example of these cards is shown in the video: The Abeyance Card. When played, you will “Seek a realm of minimal danger, suitable for the construction of an Estate”. Another is a forest card, played to seek a realm with a lush forest.

On early access, Nightingale will support 6 players and 3 biome types (forest, desert, and swamp). Inflexion plans to keep the game in early access for 9-12 months to add new biomes, story missions, and finally unveil the city of Nightingale – the centre of all magic in the universe.
