New Star Wars Releases for 2024/2025

Disney has been creating new Star Wars releases to keep the exciting franchise alive. What is in store for fans of the force in 2024 and beyond?

Disney has many Star Wars releases in the pipeline with several slated for a 2024 release.

Skeleton Crew

Skeleton Crew was originally announced with a 2023 Star Wars release window. Due to the recent writer and actor strikes, the show was pushed back into 2024. The main cast is as follows: Jude Law, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Robert Timothy Smith, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, and Kyriana Kratter.

The exact plot remains a secret, though an official synopsis teases that four kids make a discovery on their home planet, leading to them getting lost in “a strange and dangerous galaxy”. The series is expected to have eight episodes.

The Acolyte

The Acolyte will be the Star Wars franchise’s first live-action project set in the High Republic era and will be “a Sith-led story.” The only one of the new Star Wars releases that will likely focus on a Dark side main character.

While details of the exact story are vague, it was confirmed to involve a Wookie Jedi and features a story surrounding a Padawan returning to their Jedi master to investigate a series of crimes.

The cast includes names like Dafne Keen, Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Lee Jung-jae.

The Bad Batch: Season 3

The final series of the animated series “The Bad Batch” will debut in 2024. Recently, a teaser trailer has been released with a cameo from Asajj Ventress. The release date has been set as 21st February 2024.

Season 2 left audiences on a major cliffhanger, with Clone Force 99 losing Tech, Omega getting kidnapped, and the reveal of another important clone. The entire cast is expected to make a return – including Dee Bradley Baker and Michelle Ang.

Tales of the Jedi: Season 2

The first season of “The Tales of the Jedi” followed Ahsoka and Count Dooku throughout multiple adventures and eras of their life – such as Ahsoka’s life before the Jedi Order and Count Dooku’s relationship with Qui-Gon Jinn.

Season 2 is expected to focus on two characters again with three episodes dedicated to each, though this has not been confirmed.

Future Releases 2025 and Beyond

Previously expected for 2024, Diego Luna’s “Andor: Season 2” is a highly anticipated returning series. Fans can also expect The Mandalorian Season 4, and a possible Ahsoka Season 2. While currently unconfirmed, 2025 would be the likely release date for these two shows. Once “The Bad Batch” has concluded, perhaps we will see the release of a “The Acolyte” spin-off as a replacement. With the return of Asajj Ventress, Star Wars fans will likely see more of the Dathomirian Nightsister soon.
