Marvel Breaks the Silence on Fantastic Four Casting

Marvel has announced a Fantastic Four reboot. Fans have been speculating about the Fantastic Four casting, and now it has finally been revealed!

Ever since the announced return of the Fantastic Four in 2019 at San Diego Comic Con, fans have been speculating about who will portray Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch, and The Thing. Marvel has finally broken their silence to confirm the reboot Fantastic Four casting, who will appear in the MCU. Padro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joesph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Their casting was heavily rumoured before the announcement, so comes as no surprise to fans.

Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards

Reed Richards is a founding member and leader of the Fantastic Four. He is the inventor of the spacecraft that was bombarded by cosmic radiation, granting the Fantastic Four their powers. Richards gained the power to stretch his body into any shape. Pedro Pascal has appeared in several well-known series, such as Narcos, Game of Thrones, and The Last of Us.

Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm

Susan Storm gained her powers after being exposed to a cosmic storm. She possesses the powers of invisibility and force fields. Her invisibility works through bending light waves, allowing herself and other objects to disappear from view. Additionally, she can project powerful fields of invisible psionic energy that she uses both offensively and defensively. Vanessa Kirby is best known for her role as Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of “The Crown”.

Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm

Johnny Storm gained his powers on a spacecraft bombarded by cosmic rays, like the other members. He can engulf his body in flames, fly, harmlessly absorb fire, and control fire by sheer force of will. His catchphrase is “Flame On!” He is the youngest of the group – a brash personality and overprotective of his sister, Susan Storm. Joesph Quinn’s most notable role is Eddie Munson from Netflix’ “Stranger Things”.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing

Ben Grimm, like his fellow members, gained his powers via cosmic storm. He is known for his rocky appearance, superhuman strength, sense of humour, and his battle cry “It’s clobberin’ time!”. The character’s speech pattern is a key feature throughout his arc as he struggles to accept his newfound powers. Eben Moss-Bachrach has already played David Lieberman in Marvel’s Netflix collaboration, “The Punisher.

Further castings have yet to be announced, but there is speculation about Dr. Doom – the Fantastic Four’s traditional villain – appearing in the 2025 movie.
