James Gunn Debunks Wonder Woman Casting for New DCU

Gal Gadot will not be reprising her role as Wonder Woman. But who will take up the mantle in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU reboot?

There are many rumours surrounding James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU reboot. This time, it’s about who will be taking up the mantle of playing Wonder Woman.

Previously, Diana Prince was played by Gal Gadot. For a long time, there was speculation that the actress would reprise her role. It soon became clear, though, that she would not make a return.

Naturally, the internet began speculating again. It was rumoured that Elizabeth Debicki (High Priestess Ayesha from Guardians of the Galaxy) would be the answer. According to Gunn, this is false.

“This is coming from a site that’s just making up a bunch of stuff (I love working with Elizabeth but I’ve never even had this thought,” said the co-CEO of DC Studios.

So here we are again at square one. The fans don’t know who will be playing Wonder Woman. While no solo character film has been announced, there is a prequel TV show “Paradise Lost” in the pipeline.

The new DCU is starting off with “Creature Commandos,” an animated series for Max. Superman (previously known as Superman: Legacy) comes next, which is currently in production.
