“Fool Me Once” was an instant hit on Netflix. Now, the thriller writer Harlan Coben will continue his partnership with the streamer.
After the overwhelming success of “Fool Me Once,” Netflix has greenlit two more adaptations of Novels created by the American mystery/thriller writer Harlan Coben.
“Missing You” and “Run Away” are set to be adapted into two limited series by Quay Street Productions. Coben will act as executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions. These titles will mark the ninth and tenth screen adaptations made through Coben’s ongoing creative partnership with Netflix.
“Fool Me Once,” starring Michael Keegan, Joanna Lumley, and Richard Armitage, premiered on January 1st, 2023. The series amassed 61 million views in the first two weeks, reaching the Top 10 in 91 countries worldwide.
Coben’s Upcoming Netflix Releases
“Missing You” is set to begin filming in Spring 2024, adapted for screen by Victoria Asare-Archer. Here is the synopsis for the book: “Detective Kat Donovban’s fiance Josh disappeared 11 years ago, and she’s never heard from him since. Now, swiping profiles on dating apps, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past”.
Danny Brocklehurt will adapt “Run Away”: “Simon had the perfect life: loving wife and kids, great job, beautiful home. But then his eldest daughter Paige ran away and everything fell apart. So now when he finds her, vulnerable and strung out on drugs in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home. An argument escalates into shocking violence that will shatter Simon’s life all over again. His search for his daughter will take him into a dangerous underworld, revealing deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever”.
